Slack: Can teammates join in a live chat conversation?

Can more than one person join a conversation?

Yes. A teammate can join an existing conversation at any point to have take over or have multiple people in one conversation. 

Do they need to have a Continually account?

No. Currently anyone who is part of your Slack workspace will be able to join conversations. We use the avatar and name from Slack so they don't need an account.
